Obviuously none of them are ready yet as there has not been an announcement. The 3.5Gold just came out.... give them some time.

Is anyone running 3.5 using the current skins while waiting for the updates which have 3.5 specific items added?

I did but I had alot of problems with it so I am running on the default vbulletin skin till pank gets the skins updates. But let me tell you if you dont got vbulletin you should get it 3.5.0 is so awesome it has so much more then what those other forums have just like what the vbulletin team said 'Why use something with less features' cough cough PHPBB ;)

I do. It doesn't convert very well, but still MUCH better than the default...so I use it anyway. ;)
can't wait till the updates happen though!! WOOT!!

In that case, I'll wait. A week or two isn't going to change anything.

Same here, had to revert a template or two but the fusion skin is still much better than default :D
c'mon firmament and scarlet. :D
** Update **
The skins are coming along pretty well. I'm not only updating to vB 3.5 but I am recoding every skin to have some nifty new features built in ;)
I'm also going to update some of the standard graphics that need updating (like ratings, etc.)
ALL of the skins will be released at the same time. My "goal" is to have them all up by the end of next weekend. Maybe sooner.
What kind of nifty new features Pank?

By nifty new features do you by any chance mean adding a few icons for some popular vB addons? (i.e vBchat, vBArcade, Dynamic Forums/Home button)?
Either way I'm glad to see that you aren't just rushing to release them quickly when they aren't ready. I'd rather wait a while and get them without too many bugs.
Thanks for the hard work!

I'm sorry but we will not be able to add support for hacks or add on software. All of the newer skins are built so the navigation buttons are in their own table so it is very easy to add new buttons, etc.
The biggest built in feature I am adding is the highlighting of announcements and sticky threads. I've often times wanted to do this here because it makes sense to have those types of threads highlighted :)
Here is a screenshot so you can see. This is all controlled via the CSS file so you can change the colors to anything you wish. Also the spacer between the categories and posts now use a common CSS element so changing the gaps will be very easy. And I've added some common functions to the search menu.

Now I surely can't wait for pank to release these :) Any idea in any new skin your making anytime soon for 3.5.0 like a brand new one?
No new skins coming out super quick. The next few are going to be clean skins since the last few were pretty graphics heavy. But I don't have any designs done yet. After these are released I am going to add a shopping cart to the store.

hey, since these are being updated. Will we need to rebuy the ones we bought for v-bulletin 3.0 or will we be allowed the updated version?
It depends when you bought skin.
Once you buy a skin you are in tiled to one year’s access to updates to the skin.
So if you bought within a year you can get the updates for free :)
Thanks,
Mat

You wont be able to use 3.0.X skins right now on your 3.5.0. Pank is taking his time and converting all the skins to 3.5.0 and he said this upcoming week we should know something about them being released. So nothing is going to work on 3.0.X until Pank says they are all converted to 3.5.0
The 3.5 gold skins aren’t quite ready, if that answers your question.
Thanks,
Mat

Very nice, just like v.b.s.t.y.l.e.s.com Element Skin.
Very creative of you :P

Now you see who takes who's code and uses it ;) So yeah, it is very creative. There is a mod over at vb.org that I found useful. I've been using that on my dev board for quite a while now. I was just waiting for the next batch of updates to make it official.
Oh, and here is a screen shot because as soon as they find out about the above link I'm sure he will remove it. But there are more bits of evidence that our code is used by more than just me ;) I just won't reveal all of them.
So before you make a comment, you may want to do some research :)
That is soo funny! :D

Wow... thats so wrong. Why haven't you gone after them for infringment? If they trually have copied your code and modifed it without permission or even with permission I doubt you gave them permission to re-sell it...

Because I choose to try and take the high road. I've known about that and other areas since that skin was released. I like Miko. I think he is a good guy and has some nice stuff (yeah, I know. Dumb to say). I was just really disappointed when I saw that. But honestly, companies borrow stuff all the time. Look at IPB and vBulletin. Vb comes out with something and IPB rushes to have the same features.
Just part of business I guess. And yes, we "all" get ideas from other things. In my opinion it was not worth pursuing. I would have never even mentioned it if I was not forced to. Like I said... I've kept a lid on this for many months.

I have a question...
I have to wait until the skins are updated before upgrading to VB 3.5.0 -- right?
The goal is to have them done by next weekend. Yes, I would wait to upgrade unless you want to use the default vB skin for a few days. It's up to you.
Thanks.

Hi to everyone here at ExtremePixels.com
I hope this is OK with Pank and the team here, but I wanted to pop in in an attempt to try to clarify a few issues...
I can assure everyone here that I know Miko (owner of vBStyles) has always thought highly of Panks work, and has great professional respect and admiration for Extremepixels. Neither Miko or any of his team would ever make any attempt at copyright theft, nor would we attempt to steal anyone elses work; and we also know that Pank would never do anything such as this either. Comments I have seen on various sites suggesting that there are issues between the two vB skin design companies are simply not true.
vBStyles has unfortunately been hacked; and given that Extremepixels experienced a similar serious event several months ago, and Pank did a fantastic job at informing everyone how he intended to resolve any issues (and yes, I am a happy customer too :D ) we are sure that everyone here will fully understand what we are now going through and that we too are working very hard to get back online ASAP.
Whoever did this to us also placed the message you see in Panks screenshot on our servers, they did this maliciously, and with intent to cause issues that go beyond those considered normal 'hacking'. Obviously we are very concerned at the fact that we have been hacked and are working very hard to resolve the issues and get back online ASAP, but are also extremely concerned that someone is trying to cause serious issues between vBStyles and Extremepixels. Why would someone put that message there? we have no idea. There has never been any issues between vBStyles and Extremepixels, and I for one hope that everyone here can clearly see that someone is indeed attempting to cause issues, but that the mutual respect, common sense and pragmatism both on here and on vBstyles forums will prevail, and the mutual professional respect we have for each other will continue.
Please contact me if there's anything else I can advise on. Many thanks for allowing us to post this on your site Bob.
Wishing Bob, his team and everyone here on Extremepixels the very best
Kind regards
John

Hi John. Of course I have no problems at all with you posting here.
First off I'll say that I hope you find out who did this and they get what they deserve. That is the most important thing right now.
If you read through my post you will see that I think Miko is a good guy. I was just a bit shocked when a customer pointed that link out to me.
If I really didn't like you guys or Miko for that fact I would have made a huge issue out of that and tried to really embarrass him. But I didn't. I only brought it up because I was basically forced to.
While I really am sorry you got hacked I must honestly disagree with the fact that a hacker put that page up there.
a. it's been up there for many months
b. the code used is the same code as I use in too many parts to be a coincidence.
c. other skins besides that one have clues I have not posted as well
But, like I said before. Companies borrow ideas and bits all the time. "Everybody" gets ideas from someplace or another. I said that in an earlier post. I like Miko and think that he and I are a small majority that are actually in it for the long haul and actually try to take care of our customers. Trust me if I didn't like Miko or thought he was a bad guy I would have brought this all up months ago. Until yesterday I have not posted that or mentioned that in any public way. Nor, did I ever contact Miko regarding it.
Ok, that's enough about all of this. Let's try to focus on getting "both" or our customers there updates ;)
Thanks John.

Ahh, the dramatic world of vBulletin skin creation...
:)
Seriously, you guys all do great work and I'm so impressed with all of you.
I've managed to hack my way through the "Fusion" skin to get it exactly the way I like and in doing so was blown away by the sheer complexity of it when I started getting into it. It was a VERY basic mod that I did, but I was stunned by how much effort it took for me to make the change without upsetting the balance of the whole! That gives me an inkling of how advanced you guys are that you could have actually DESIGNED the whole thing from the ground up. (I'm hoping my mod works in the 3.5 version, else it'll be more 12-hour days figuring it all out again LOL!)
Anyways, keep up the great work, and I'm SO looking forward to the 3.5 version!
